I'm sure all of you have heard the news by now.

I actually do see some potential for Star Wars: Episode VII to actually be good now that George Lucas is just a creative consultant, and I'm not worried about Disney toning it down at all (hell, even Disney's been known for tackling darker subjects in this day in age). I don't even think later seasons of The Clone Wars will be toned down if it makes a channel hop to Disney XD (word of advice if it does: pick a suitable timeslot; the series has gotten darker every season). Considering how well The Avengers turned out, I don't see any reason to be panicking yet so long as they don't interfere in the creative process. And there's also recent movies like Wreck-It Ralph. If anything, it can't get worse than the Holiday Special.

What most of us are on edge about is the fate of the Star Wars Expanded Universe. A lot of us are worried that 30 years worth of lore will be undone since it takes place after Episode VI. Well, that's why we have Leland Chee (AKA the continuity guy) around. The EU has never been a hard-and-fast canon (you could basically say it's all licensed fanfiction in the first place), and parts of it are inevitably undone whenever a new story is written (whether it's by Lucasfilm or not). Besides, I'm not that sensitive retcons, and as a fanfic writer myself, I know it's almost impossible to keep up with all of the EU (and some parts of it aren't that great or notable in the first place. *cough*The Crystal Star*cough*). In the case that it contradicts a lot of the post-ROTJ lore, I see it becoming its own separate timeline, kind of like how it works in Marvel and DC comics.

Overall, I'm keeping an open mind about this.

As for the fate of the Paranormalities trilogy, it's just another fanfic in the end, and Episode VII's not coming out for at least two years. I'll probably be finished with it before then, and if two continuities are created, it'll be part of the EU timeline since it does take place after the New Jedi Order books (even if storywise, you won't need to have any knowledge of the Star Wars EU to enjoy Paranormalities since it relies mostly on original characters and concepts).

My thoughts are that of great concern. On one hand they may keeps with how star wars is and always has been and it will continue to prosper and be enjoyable, but on the other Disney might screw it up like they have with other things, I do not want a Disneyfied star wars. I really hope its the first one.

Anything is possible. While I don't find the idea of Disneyfying Star Wars likely, it's also good to be cautious.

Again, only time will tell.

Finally someone who's not nerdraging about all this. "Ruining my childhood!" Really? How? The next movies could be incredible. I don't remember seeing Mickey Mouse cross overs into the Avengers. This is meant to breathe new life into the saga, and it will.

And there are still morons around here who literally believe that the next movie will feature Mickey Mouse. So let's hate GL and Disney, yeah?

World is full of brainless idiots.

And well, the new movie can turn out even interesting. At least we have something to wait for!

I'm not even worried about anything. George makes me sad, that's all.

Expanded universe...... My thoughts exactly! They can't just ignore the fact that all of these awesome characters are sitting there ready to be introduced. I mean who doesn't want to learn more about Mara or the solo siblings or Ben if they don't then they r crazy people

Whilst I may not be the dude to go for in terms of Post ROTJ stuff I do know about several of the bigger arcs in the SW universe like the Vong war and the Second Civil war. Those kinds of arcs in general should be kept around and if the movie actually goes for those arcs even better

I think it's a Godsend for Star Wars fans. Disney has a reputation of making good movies and George Lucas isn't directing this time around. And people who aren't George Lucas understand Star Wars.
