What do I need to say? It's the Changeling hive queen Chrysalis in her larva form. She is more insect than equine in appearance, so I decided to get creative with the larval stage's appearance and go with something non-pony-like (and also add to a theory as to how Changelings decide what species to imitate before conquering).

Of course, the love they feed on doesn't necessarily have to be romantic...

And no, Larva Chrysalis is not supposed to have a mouth you can see.

Theoretically, it's like the life-cycle of a butterfly, except their size changes drastically once they reach maturity. Once they're out of the coccoon, they will slightly resemble whatever species their hive Queens intend to masquerade as (as a template for their shape-shifting, as obviously ponies aren't the only intelligent species on that planet).

Mind-boggling, ain't it?

It is. Many of us agree with the theory she is more like Kerrigan in Starcraft. Take a perfect queen and capture her and then twist her to become part of the swarm.
